The Extended Family of William the Conqueror

 

William the Conqueror was born in 1028 and died in 1087. He became Duke of Normandy following the death of his father in 1035. In September 1066 he invaded England and defeated Harold Godwinson at the Battle of Hastings on 14th October 1066. He subdued the country and was crowned King of England on 25th December 1066.
